Dior and Surge were doing well and had moved in together. Kevin visited often, and they had a strong friendship going on. He now worked with us, and any problems we had, Kevin had that shit dealt with. He didn’t play about Surge now, and motherfuckers were coming up missing if they even breathed his name. I guess for them to come for Surge was to come for Dior, and Kevin wasn’t having that shit.
Legion fully retired and spends his time waiting for his daughter to put in an appearance any day now. A’Moya is big as fuck but never looked so beautiful. They are so good together and definitely made for each other. The bullet missed Legion’s lungs, so the nigga made a speedy recovery, and now he was living his best life with his best girl. Or should I say, wife.
He took her to Bermuda and surprised her with a beach wedding. I swear that shit had us gangstas crying like crazy motherfuckers because they had both been through so much to be together. Sis came through and saved him, but he saved her too.
Just as I started to give up hope on finding the perfect ring for Kanada, my eyes caught something, and as I stared at the 14 karat white gold ring with a two-carat pear cut diamond set in 14-karat rose gold, I knew that was the one.
“I want this one!”
A few days later, and it was time for me to propose to Kanada. She had no idea, and I thought that I would be nervous like I was the day I went looking for a ring, but I wasn’t. I was excited to ask her.
The kids knew, and it took a lot of fucking visits to Chuck-E-Cheese, a bunch of Disney Princess and Iron Man shit for them not to say anything. I was convinced that they played me by getting all that shit out of me, but as long as Kanada didn’t know, that was all I cared about.
“Okay,” I said, looking around at the candles and rose petals that I put down. I had to laugh at myself because if someone had told me that I would do something so damn mushy, I would have beat their ass for talking shit. Yet, here I was making sure that each petal was placed perfectly around our candlelit room.
When I heard the alarm beep, I took one final look around the room before rushing out and closing the door behind me.
I peeked over the staircase to see Kanada walk in with bags in her hands. To get her out of the house, I sent her on a shopping spree.
“Hey, baby!” I yelled down, and she looked up at me.
“Hey!”
Damn, she’s so fucking beautiful! I’m a lucky nigga! I thought as I looked down into her perfect face.
“Baby, have you seen my cufflinks? The one TJ bought me for my birthday? I have a special meeting I wanted to wear them for.”
“The last time I saw them, they were in your dresser.”
“Well, can you come help me find them because I’ve been looking all day.”
I needed a reason to get her up to our room. Knowing Kanada, she was about to go straight into the kitchen to start dinner, and I couldn’t wait that long.
“Um, sure.”
She put the bags down by the stairs and came up. When she reached me, I pulled her into me and kissed her lips while squeezing her ass.
“Did you miss me?” I asked, and she shook her head.
Well, ain’t that a bitch!
“Damn, ma. That hurt.” I played hurt, and she laughed.
“I’m joking. I missed you!”
She threw her arms around my neck and kissed my lips again.
“Good. Now, can you help? I gotta leave out soon.”
She shook her head at me and rolled her eyes. “If I find it in your dresser, Alvaro, I’m going to beat your ass.”
With a little attitude, she stomped toward our bedroom door and pushed it open. When she saw the inside, she gasped loudly and put a hand over her mouth.
“Alvaro!”
When I stepped around her to see her face, tears were dancing in her eyes. I took the remote for the radio out of my pocket and turned to her favorite song—“Imagine” by Ariana Grande.
Putting the remote down, I took Kanada’s hands and dropped to my knees.
“Kanada, the night I met you, I didn’t know that God had just led me to my destiny. I thought my life was complete and that I had everything I could ever need until you came and showed me that you were missing.” I started as tears flowed down her beautiful face.
“You and TJ have been the best additions to my life, and I can’t imagine not having you both. You made me come alive just from being who you are, Kanada, and I want to spend the rest of my life loving you. So, with that said, I want to know if you would marry me?”
I took the ring from my pocket and opened the box.
“Oh my god! It’s so beautiful!” She gasped as she looked down at the ring.
“Nowhere as beautiful as you, baby.”
She then looked into my eyes, and said, “Yes, I will marry you, Alvaro.”
I took the ring from the box and slid it on her hand. We both looked down at it and then laughed.
“We getting married,” I said with a goofy ass smile on my face, and she nodded.
I pulled her into my arms, and we kissed deeply for a few seconds before I broke it.
“Come,” I said and took her hand.
I led her into the bathroom, and she smiled, seeing the bath set with more rose petals floating on top of the bubbles.
I helped her out of her clothes—stealing a few kisses on her body—and then helped her into the bath before doing the same.
When I climbed into the water, I sat back and pulled Kanada onto my lap.
“I love you, Alvaro,” she said as I lowered her down onto my dick.
“Sssss, I love you too baby.” I hissed when her warm, tight walls sucked in my dick.
We locked lips again, and she started to slowly ride me. I gripped the back of her head and pulled her face closer while I sucked on her perfect lips. Her nails dug into my shoulders when I started to fuck her from the bottom. Water splashed onto the floor as her movements sped up.
Breaking our kiss, I slid my tongue down her neck and around her nipples before I sucked one into my mouth.
“Ohhhh, Alvaro. Shit!”
Her cries echoed around our spacious bathroom. I grabbed her ass cheeks and squeezed them in my hands.
“Hmmmm, fuck baby,” I mumbled and closed my eyes.
Her hips moved up and down faster, making my toes curl and my legs shake.
“Alvaro! Alvarooooo!” she screamed as she came and tightened around my dick.
“Fuck, baby. I love making love to you. Damn.”
Sex with Kanada was the best feeling in the world. A hundred pussies amount to her. She had everything I needed, and I couldn’t wait to make her my wife.
“You gonna have my baby, Kanada?” I asked as I pumped upward into her.
“Yes, Alvaro. I will have your baby!” she cried, eyes closed and head back.
“Good, because I already threw away your birth control.”
She looked at me, and I smiled widely.
Feeling my nut about to spill, I pulled her face to mine and slipped my tongue inside her mouth. After a few more pumps, I groaned into her mouth as I emptied my seeds into her.
She wrapped her arms around my neck, and we stayed hugged up until I came down from my high. I pulled her back from me and looked into her eyes to see my future, and it looked fucking good to me!
I beat the hell out of Kanada’s pussy two more times before I had to carry her out of the bathroom. By the time I put her down, she was snoring. I stood back from the bed watching my beauty sleep, and then an idea came to mind.
I wasn’t a nigga who posted on social media and shit—I only had them because Kanada set them up for me—but watching her sleeping so peacefully with my ring glistening on her finger, it was the perfect picture.
Picking up my cell phone, I took a picture of the ring on her finger before uploading it to Instagram with the caption, She said yes!
I took a few more pictures of her sleeping peacefully and uploaded those too, to show the world my sleeping beauty. Satisfied, I put
my cell on the nightstand table and got comfortable in the bed, but I didn’t get a chance to fall off to sleep because my phone started ringing.
I quickly snatched it up so that it wouldn’t wake up Kanada—even though I knew I had fucked her into a coma like I usually did.
A smirk crossed my face when I saw that it was Brittany calling me.
The night we had that talk, and I told her I wanted to be with Kanada, she didn’t say a word to me. She just sat there looking at me with her eyes wide and mouth dropped. Since she didn’t have shit to say—not that it would have changed my mind—I left.
After that, she made sure to avoid me whenever I went for KeKe. In fact, when I would text her to say that I was coming for KeKe, she would have her ready and out the door, before I could get out of my car, so I hadn’t really seen her. When I would take KeKe home, Brittany made sure to be inside her room, so we never said anything to each other. And it had been like that for the past few months.
Seeing her name flashing on my screen had me wondering what she wanted to say now after all this time.
I swiped my finger across the screen and answered the call.
“Hello, Brittany.”
“Nigga, you have a lot of fucking nerve! You’re marrying the bitch? Really!” She yelled so loud that I didn’t even need to have the phone to my ear.
“Motherfucker, I couldn’t even get a relationship out of you, but this bitch gets marriage? Marriage, nigga! I fucking hate you, Wrath, I swear to God I hate you! But it’s all good because for years I was fucking Richard too, nigga!” she yelled like that meant shit to me, and I laughed.
Hearing my laughter stopped her ranting, and she went quiet.
“Brittany, you have done nothing but confirmed to me that I was right not to waste my time on you.” She gasped. “The only good thing you ever did was give me KeKe, but with a woman like Kanada in her life, I know my daughter will never end up like you. But you changed right, Britt?” I laughed.
The whole time I was apart from Kanada, all Brittany kept professing was how much she had changed. I couldn’t figure out why my heart wouldn’t allow me to take a chance on her, but I was glad that I listened and went back for Kanada.
Brittany was a selfish woman who thought about nothing but herself, and she thought with her pussy and not her heart. I would have been a damn fool to trade Kanada in for someone like Brittany. Even if Kanada was out there like that, how I thought, she still was a better woman than Brittany because she would have been doing it for TJ and not because she was a hoe like Brittany.
“Go to hell, Wrath!”
“As long as I’m not sitting next to you, I’m good,” I said and hung up on her ass.
Damn, a nigga dodged a bullet! Was my only thought as I snuggled up next to the only woman for me.
“Alvaro!” Kanada whined, and I chuckled.
“Girl, if you don’t hush up! Do you trust me?” I asked, and she stopped fussing.
“With my life,” she responded.
“Okay then. Stop fussing and asking me questions. Just follow my lead.”
After letting out a long breath, she nodded, took my hand, and silently followed where I was leading her. I could feel her nervousness through the palms of her hands, or maybe that was mine!
I was about to reveal a surprise to her, and I didn’t know how she was going to take it.
When we finally made it to the guesthouse at the back of our grounds, she looked over at me with a smirk.
“Um, did you bring me out here for sex?” she asked, and I fell out laughing.
Granted, any time I led her out here, it was to blow her back out without the kids hearing us, but today wasn’t about that.
“No,” I said and chuckled while shaking my head at her.
She opened her mouth—probably to ask me a question again—but quickly closed it when I gave her a look.
I smiled when she complied then I opened the door for her and allowed her to walk in first. Rubbing my sweaty palms together and let out a long breath.
I hope she likes this surprise, I thought when I pushed open the bedroom door for her to step inside.
“OH MY GOD!!!!” Kanada screamed and then she started to cry. “Mom, Dad!!!”
I stood back and watched as Kanada ran full speed ahead to her parents, Marie and Rayon.
When I first met Kanada, she told me how she had first come to New York to find her parents, but they had moved to another state. She never mentioned them again, and it did slip my mind until I knew I wanted her to marry me, and her dad popped into my head.
I put Glasses on it and told him to track them down. It took some time, but we finally found them. I made contact with them and explained all that had happened. They agreed to come back to New York to see Kanada.
The three of them stood in the middle of the room crying and hugging each other. Kanada was crying so much, she could barely talk, but I wasn’t worried because I knew they were good tears.
“Oh my god, look how beautiful you have grown,” Marie said, stroking Kanada’s face before kissing it.
Kanada was a perfect combination of both of her parents—I could see them both when I looked at her.
“Mom, Dad. How? I don’t understand! I’m so sorry! I missed you guys so much!” Kanada cried as they hugged her.
“We know, baby, and we’re sorry too. I missed you more than you will ever know,” Rayon said.
“I’m sorry that we weren’t there for you when that man was treating you so badly, but I’m so glad that you left him and found a good man,” Marie said, and then they turned to face me.
Kanada let her parents go and walked over to me.
“I don’t know how you managed to do this, but thank you so much, Alvaro.” She wrapped her arms around me and buried her face in my neck.
“I love you, Kanada, and there is nothing I wouldn’t do for you. No matter what, I got you.”
And I meant that. For the rest of my life!
Epilogue
A’Moya Morse Ramsey
Two years later
“Thank you,” I signed to Mercy, and she signed it back.
I smiled at my clever little girl and gave her a kiss on the cheek while she ate the banana that I had given her. After finding out that we were having a little girl, Pharaoh wanted to name her Mercy Evelyn Ramsey.
Mercy, because he said that despite what he did in life, God still showed him mercy by sparing his life and giving him a daughter. And Evelyn was his mother’s name.
At almost two years old, we had Mercy checked regularly, and so far, her hearing was fine, and there were no signs of tumors in her ears. I prayed daily that she didn’t end up like me, which was one of my biggest fears. Although I now came to see my deafness as something special and not something to hide, I didn’t want my daughter to experience what I did.
Just like Pharaoh said, he never left my side from my pregnancy until now. He made sure to be there every step of the way. He had his friend Glasses make us a baby monitor that made the lights in the house flash whenever she cried. My biggest fear was not hearing her when she needed me.
When she was born, Pharaoh cried, and I had never felt so close to him than I did that day. It was the most precious day ever, and one that made our bond that much stronger. Much to his joy, Mercy came out looking just like me, but she had his hazel eyes.
She was beautiful, perfect, and ours.
I never imagined myself being a mother, but I couldn’t imagine not being one to her or sharing my child with anyone else but Pharaoh.
After his dad, I thought that it would have affected him in some way, but it hadn’t. He bounced back stronger than ever, and for the first time, he was really free.
The hold his dad had on him was gone.
Clare was hurt when she found what Percy had done to Pharaoh. She was on her brother’s side and didn’t even flinch when she found out that Percy was dead. She went off to college and was doing very well. Every holiday she came home to spend it
with us. And we couldn’t keep her away from Mercy!
Funnily enough, Percy’s death made Pharaoh and Clare even closer.
Pharaoh was doing very well. His family played a major part in that because they embraced him instead of walking away, which was his fear.
All in all, life was good for us, and I couldn’t be happier.
I smelled his cologne before I felt his presence behind me, and I smiled. He wrapped an arm around me and kissed the side of my face before turning the stool that I was sitting on to face him.
Seeing my husband’s beautiful face, I smiled and stroked it. It was still so surreal saying that Pharaoh was my husband.
The man I met in the bathroom stall almost three years ago—the man who both frightened and enticed me—the man that I should have run away from instead of to—was now my husband and father to my daughter.
Sometimes when God allows our paths to cross with someone, we may not understand, but He does.
“Good morning, beautiful,” Pharaoh said.
“Good morning.” I smiled.
“Oh, I was talking to Mercy,” he said and then laughed when my mouth dropped. “No, I was talking to you.”
I slapped him, and he pecked my lips.
He then looked at Mercy.
“Can Daddy have some?” he asked and tried to bite her banana, but she pulled it away from him. “Meany like your momma.”
“I am not the mean one, Pharaoh—you are. Do you remember what you said to me in the store?”
He fell out laughing while I sat there pouting.
“You were looking at a nigga mad hard and shit,” he said, and I sucked my teeth.
“So?”
I would admit that I was staring at him that day I saw him at the store—but that was because he intrigued me, and I found myself stuck whenever I saw him. I just didn’t expect him to ask, what the fuck you looking at?
“I should have known it was because you wanted my goodies.”
This time, I laughed. “Don’t act like you didn’t want me too or that you didn’t stare at me.”
